About The Futures Project

Our Vision

To build better futures by fostering innovation and technology that serve the real and future needs of people and planet.

Our Mission

To create shared visions for our collective futures, we catalyse and support our global community of changemakers who innovate to achieve systemic change in out societies.

Our Purpose

The urgency

New innovations and technologies are rapidly transforming all aspects of our societies. We feel their impact across all sectors. The technologies we build today can take society in very different
directions. We lack a vision of the kind of society we want to live in, and how to safeguard it for future generations. Creating a vision enables us to understand better where change is needed – and how to use systemic and inclusive innovation and technologies to help us get there.

The challenge

The climate crisis means we must find sustainable solutions – and fast. The COVID-19 pandemic proved to us how interconnected our societal challenges are. Systemic vulnerabilities and inequalities are more acute than ever before. The speed of technological change feels overwhelming to many. Confidence in the future is at an all-time low in many countries. Right now, we don’t have a roadmap that helps us determine how we want innovation and technologies to support our future. How can innovation and tech best serve humanity? How can they help us build “good” societies? What are the values that should underpin them?
Finding concrete and actionable answers to these questions is urgent. This is why we built The Futures Project.

Why are we different?

TFP is a home for change-makers who put empowerment, healthy societies, and the well-being of people and planet at the core of their work. We are more than an innovation incubator. We help interconnect societal problems and their solutions through systemic innovation and technology, and support the innovators who are driving this change.
